Martin's story

I qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1989 having trained with one of the largest independent accountancy practices in Scotland. In 1995 I left my home city of Elgin, after back packing around Europe, and moved to Glasgow in search of a more fulfilling career. Six months later I started the accountancy practice from a small office on Clarkston Road.

My experience in business is exactly the same as yours, dealing with cash flow problems, staffing issues, attracting new business etc. I have first-hand knowledge of the key elements that go into running a successful business, which I am keen to share with you. I think that you have to put yourself in your customers position and ask yourself "what would they want" and then provide it.

The success of the business is down to building good long-term relationships with the clients. My energy, enthusiasm, business development skills and unwavering self-belief have all contributed to the success of the business.
